<h1>Construction Drafter</h1><h1>Horizons East Building Company&nbsp;</h1><h2>Jacksonville, NC | Full-Time | $23.00 to $28.00/hour&nbsp;</h2>Horizons East is a locally owned homebuilder serving Jacksonville and surrounding counties. We build with integrity, clear communication, and a commitment to quality-values our team and community can count on.&nbsp;We're hiring a detail-oriented Draftsman to produce accurate residential construction drawings that support efficient, high-quality builds. This role plays a critical part in translating design intent into build-ready plans that guide estimating, purchasing, and field execution.&nbsp;Key Responsibilities&nbsp;<ul><li>Draft complete residential plan sets, including foundation, floor, roof, plumbing, electrical, and elevation plans.&nbsp;</li><li>Create detailed drawings for built-in cabinetry, fireplaces, elevation options, foundations, footings, wall sections, and framing&nbsp;</li><li>Utilize digital tools including Excel, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams efficiently Interpret architectural concepts, technical specifications, and construction requirements Revise plans based on feedback, design changes, and field conditions&nbsp;</li><li>Collaborate with estimating, construction, and office teams to ensure plans align with build standards&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain organized digital drawing files and documentation&nbsp;</li><li>Support continuous improvement in drafting standards and workflows&nbsp;</li><li>Generate site specific plans with HEBC selections and requirements&nbsp;</li><li>Generate "house-box" fit preliminary plan utilizing mapping data&nbsp;</li><li>Proficient in switching tasks as HEBC/owner will have a variety of real estate projects&nbsp;</li></ul>Qualifications&nbsp;<ul><li>Prior experience as a drafter or a degree/certification in drafting or a related field (required)&nbsp;</li><li>Strong technical drawing skills with close attention to detail&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of residential construction methods and materials&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with drafting software; Revit Architecture by Autodesk preferred&nbsp;</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills&nbsp;</li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment Ability to relocate to or commute to Jacksonville, NC (required)&nbsp;</li></ul>Pay &amp; Benefits&nbsp;<ul><li>$23.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience Full-time, in-person position&nbsp;</li><li>Health insurance&nbsp;</li><li>Dental insurance&nbsp;</li><li>Stable schedule with early Fridays&nbsp;</li><li>Supportive, growth-focused team environment&nbsp;</li></ul>Why Join Horizons East&nbsp;<ul><li>Be part of a small, forward-thinking homebuilding team&nbsp;</li><li>See your drawings directly influence real homes and job sites&nbsp;</li><li>Work in a culture built on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement&nbsp;</li><li>Opportunity to grow your drafting skills within a residential construction environment </li></ul>
